I always invite my clients permission to incorporate meditation and mindfulness into our acupuncture sessions.
It can be incredibly powerful in helping you to enter a stage of body awareness or body consciousness. This can unlock a door into yourself that often you didn’t even know was there. This helps form the connection between your current pains you are feeling with a past trauma or experience, allowing for a deeper healing.

Opening the Door to Healing: What to Expect at Your Visit
As we begin our session, I’ll ask if you have a devotional practice. Maybe it's prayer, yoga, meditation, or something uniquely yours. Understanding your practice helps me know which door to open—the one that feels safe and familiar to you.
If you're comfortable, I will invite you to sit with me for a few minutes. To listen. To notice what comes up. This gentle pause helps us identify exactly where healing wants to happen today.
Oftentimes, during an acupuncture treatment, I will guide you through a body scan and visualization. You might anchor yourself in your breath, imagine healing light flowing through you, or consciously release what no longer serves you.
A PAUSE THAT SUPPORTS HEALING
Your nervous system is constantly running, constantly managing, constantly trying to keep you safe.
Mindfulness and meditation is the pause your body needs. It quiets the mind enough that you can actually listen to your body. And when you listen, your body finally has permission to tell you what it's been trying to say all along.

PRACTICING MINDFULNESS AT HOME
I encourage my clients to practice mindfulness or meditation at home, and I’ll provide you with resources to do so if you don’t already have a practice.
When we meditate together during your treatment, your body creates an associative memory. Later, when you meditate at home your system remembers and the healing continues.
